Pastor Les Green

August 24, 1950 — July 2, 2016

Pastor Les Green, age 65, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 2, 2016 while visiting family in Beechmont, Kentucky.  A native of Paulding County, Ohio, Les was born on August 24, 1950 and was the son of Zaida Choy Green and the late Leslie Earl Green, Sr. 

 

A veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Vietnam, Les earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Baptist Bible College.  He served in ministry in several states for over 38 years.  A loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Pastor Green loved and lived for his family, was passionate about serving people, and enjoyed music and teaching the Scripture.  He was a loved member and pastor of Nebo Crossing. 

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Debbie Rice Green; three daughters, Tonya Winters and husband Jerry, Tammy Ritter and husband Bob; and Tiffany Fontenot and husband Robert; one sister, Linda Smith and husband Brian; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

 

A celebration to honor the life of Les will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Nebo Crossing, with Pastor Bob Ritter and Pastor David Likins officiating.  Interment, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force, will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
