Pastor Harry L. Kidd

On the night of Thursday, March 05, 2020, while surrounded by his loved ones, Pastor Harry L. Kidd, age 72, of Old Fort, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord peacefully following a brief illness at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  The son of the late Everette and Gladys Cable Kidd, he was born in Pineville, West Virginia on February 25, 1948.

Known as having been a Godly man, Harry was called to pastor and preach many years ago.  Not only was he the pastor of New Testament Baptist Church in Old Fort, but he was more like family to his congregation.  Before his health began to decline, Harry enjoyed fishing.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Jenny Kidd; two sons, Chad Kidd (Jessica) and Aaron Kidd (Mindy); one sister, Jane Lanning (David); six grandchildren, Jordan, Kela, Macy, Tytus, Scott and Jasmine; and two great grandchildren, Brayden and Melanie.  He is also survived by two aunts, Effie Petersen and Faye Wilson; a number of nieces and nephews; and last but not least, his church family. 

A celebration of Pastor Kidd’s life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at New Testament Baptist Church with Pastor Rufus Biddix officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
