Pastor Donald "Lee" Davis

February 5, 1962 — March 21, 2020

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, Pastor Donald “Lee” Davis went to be with his Savior after a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 5, 1962 in Marion, North Carolina at McDowell Hospital.

Lee accepted the Lord as his Savior at 11 years old at North Cove Baptist Church in Marion, North Carolina. He was called to preach at the age of 19 and gave his life to the ministry. Lee pastored Bethlehem Baptist Church in Old Fort, North Carolina and Roland’s Chapel in Marion, North Carolina before the Lord led him to Georgetown Baptist Church in Leicester, North Carolina, where he pastored for 24 years. He concluded his ministry with the loving people of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dennis, Mississippi. He spent many years of his life traveling to preach and mentoring people across the United States.

Above all else, his family was his greatest joy. He was married to his best friend and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. The greatest gifts that he gave them were unconditional love and constant laughter.

Lee leaves behind his loving bride of 39 years, Vicki Davis; his six children, Leah Helton and her husband Josh, Jonathan Davis and wife Kelsey, Matthew Davis and wife Grace, Joshua Davis, Bethany Davis, and Anna Davis. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Adaya Helton, Adalin Helton, Hayden Davis, Eveanna Davis, Kennedy Davis, Abishai Davis, and Oaklynn Davis; dad, Gary Wilson; siblings, Lisa Bates and her husband Buddy, Joanna McPeters and her husband Jerry, and Allen Wilson and his wife Christy; along with many nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Wilson; his father, Fred Davis; one child and two grandchildren.

A private burial will be held with family in the coming days. Due to COVID-19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date in which the family would love to have all friends and family present to celebrate the life and ministry of this great man.
