Pamela Allison

Pamela Atkins Allison, age 58, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 16, 2020.  The daughter of Margie Toney Atkins of Marion and the late C.W. Atkins, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on May 19, 1961.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Allison, who passed away November 2015; and two sisters, Linda Atkins and Tammy Atkins Brown.

A member of Muddy Creek Baptist Church, Pamela at one time had worked as a nurse in the Labor & Delivery at Marion General Hospital. Always having had a smile on her face and never met a stranger, she was a friend to many.  Pamela enjoyed traveling to the beach, cooking and baking large meals for her family; but most of all, she took great pride in being a “mamaw”, spending time with her grandbabies and her “ya-ya’s” (other family members).

She is survived by, in addition to her mother, Margie; one daughter, Brandy McKinney Duvernay; one son, Hugh Blake Allison (Alicia); two stepsons, Michael Allison and Jeffery Allison (Susan); one brother, Carroll Atkins (Frankie); and one sister, Lisa Atkins Kirkland (David).  Pam is also survived by her six grandbabies, Robbie Rose (Tayler), McKenzie Lunsford (Adam), Gracie Anderson, Caroline Anderson, Blayden Allison and Graham Lucas Allison; four great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Daniel McMahan and Pastor T. Jay Addison officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
