Ora Belle Woody

Ora Belle Brooks Woody, age 83, of Marion passed away at Autumn Care on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with her family by her side. Born in Oceana, West Virginia on May 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Jodie and Dorothy Daniels Brooks.

Mrs. Woody was a member of Faith Tabernacle for over 30 years. She retired from Collins & Aikman after 32 years of service. Ora loved her family and enjoyed providing for others and will be truly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Paul Woody.

Mrs. Woody is survived by her four children, Kenneth Best (Mary Ann) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Jimmy Best of Marion, Paula Gilliland of Marion and Lisa Hunt of Marion; also surviving Mrs. Woody are three grandchildren; Christina Bill (Sean) of Newman, Georgia, Shannon Best and Brittany Branch; and three great-grandchildren Nehemiah Woody, Annie Bill and Emily Bill.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle in Marion with the Rev. Harold Davis and Deacon Charles Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ cemetery in Newland, North Carolina with pastor Dave Adkins.
