Olis H. Buff

Olis H. Buff, age 89, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina. A native of McDowell County, Olis was born February 26, 1929 to the late Ernest Hugh and Rose Farr Buff.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Buff.

Olis is a member of First Baptist Church of Marion. He is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a charter member of the McDowell Ballroom Dance Club.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of thirty-five years, Doris Vess Buff; two step-daughters, Deanna McKinney (Phil) and Rhia Turner (Joe); one sister, Ruth Pierson; and one brother, Dean Buff (Mott). Also surviving Olis are one grandson, Justin McKinney (Amanda); and one great-grandchild, Piper McKinney; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Marion.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Dr. Scott Hagaman officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
