Oleta Edwards

Oleta McMahan Edwards, age 81, of Marion, NC passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Autumn Care of Marion.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother her family was her entire life.

Mrs. Edwards was born September 20, 1936 in Yancey County, NC to the late Robert McMahan and Hassie Shuford McMahan.  She was a member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Lynn Edwards; her sister, Donna Edwards; and her brother, Lee McMahan.

Left behind to cherish Mrs. Edward’s memories are her beloved husband of 62 years, Bruce A. Edwards; three grandchildren, Kristina Carter and husband, Gary, David Ellison and wife, Stephanie and Rebecca Ellison; four great grandchildren, Cameron Ellison and wife, Alissa, Adriana “Anna” Blizzard and husband, Jordan, Elizabeth Blue and Terri Blue; and one great great grandchild on the way.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Woods and Rev. Harold Webb officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
