Odessa Webb

Odessa Higgins Webb “Maw maw Honey”, age 92, of Marion, North Carolina, while surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Mission Hospital - Memorial Campus in Asheville. Born in Yancey County, North Carolina on September 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Texie Phillips Wilson.

A loving mother, grandmother and friend, Odessa, in her spare time, enjoyed reading and cooking for her family and friends.  In her own words, “love everyone, not hate”.  She was a member of West Court Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Webb, who passed away in 2002.

Odessa is survived by one daughter, Bonita Effler (Henry); one son, Jerry Webb (Melaine); two grandchildren, Marie Williams (Ronnie) and Travis Effler; five great grandchildren, Brittany Williams (Jordan Berryhill), Haley Williams, Skyler Williams, Matt Effler and Tori Effler.  She is also survived by two nieces, Vivian Byrd and Tina Barnett; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Higgins. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at West Court Cemetery with Rev. Ross Lewis officiating.
