Norman Renfro

Norman Renfro, age 76, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 01, 2020.  The son of the late Rex and Pearl Peterson Renfro, Norman was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on September 30, 1943.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Renfro; and one son-in-law, Dwayne Toney. 

Having been a laid-back simple man, Norman enjoyed watching westerns.  When he would end a conversation, he was known to say “have fun”.

Norman is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Yevonne Street Renfro; four daughters, Linda Renfro (Alan Tengler), Sheila Toney, Barbara Tipton and Rachel Bennett; and one son, Norman Renfro (Mary).  He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Terri, Blake, Justin, Jessica, Josh, Tyler, Shaylee, Austin, Cody and Jonathan; eleven great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Linda Kay Renfro. 

A celebration of Norman’s life will be held on Sunday, July 05, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Alan Sailors officiating.  Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery; Norman’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
