Nancy Marie Sanders

Nancy Marie Stockton Sanders, age 53, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. The daughter of the late Jake Washington Stockton and Evelyn McKinney Sexton, Nancy was born in McDowell County on January 27, 1963.

Nancy loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She was a loving daughter, sister, step-mother, and step-grandmother.   

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Anthony Sanders.

In addition to her mother, Nancy is survived by two step-children, Vici Hummell and Charles Toby Sanders; two sisters, Lavonne Emery and husband Charles and Rebecca McKinney; paternal grandmother, Georgia Stockton Lavender; three grandchildren, Misti Hummell, Zeke Sanders and Addisyn Hummell. She is also survived by two nieces, Jessie N. Emery, Marcie R. Emery and one nephew Allen Sexton.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
