Nancy Jean Pittman

Nancy Jean Johnston Pittman, age 72, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. She was born on May 31, 1946 in Newaygo, Michigan to late Cedric Roy and Bessie Jean Johnston.

Nancy formally attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and grandmother. She cared for others more than herself and always had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed cooking and reading, but mostly spending time with her family.

She is survived by five children, George Johnston (Dawn), Kelly Pittman (Jamie), Vicki Brown (Paul), Lori Pittman and Shannon Pittman; three siblings, Lyle Wayne Trudell, Pamela Forde and Ginne Price. Also surviving Nancy are eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will take place Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Yancey Street Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior the service at the church.
