Nancy Simpson Bradford, age 68, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. Her loving family was by her side. A native of McDowell County, born June 28, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Hewie and Essie Williams Simpson Clark.
An avid reader, she loved to do crossword puzzles and was a true fan of Elvis Presley. Known for her famous cornbread, Nancy was dearly loved by, not only her family, but her Circle of Parents members that she met on every Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Phillip Bradford; one daughter, Crystal Bradford; siblings, Ann Vance, Frank Williams (Colene), Ray Williams and Joyce Hawkins (Dennis); five grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Ariana Hunter, Quincey Hunter, Kensly Stewart, Kimora Stewart and Kellen Kincaid; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Marion, which she was a member of, with Pastor James Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
