Myrtle “Charlene” Arrowood Noblitt, age 87, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation in Nebo. A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, she was born July 25, 1931 to the late James and Martha Davis Arrowood.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Forrest E. Noblitt; one daughter, Jan Hicks; one sister, Virginia Sentelle; and one brother, JP Arrowood.
Charlene, along with her husband, owned and operated the Snack Shack that was once located on East Court Street. Although she was legally blind, she enjoyed baking and was known for her famous “pink pie”. Charlene was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church and had attended New Manna Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her precious memories, one daughter, Robin McElreath (Jimmy); one son, Grant Davis; and one sister, Rizbeth Brooks. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dawn Evans, Brock McPeters, Sarah Hicks, Olivia Hicks and Derick Davis; and eight great grandchildren, Saige Ledford, Haven Medford, Ridge McPeters, Montana McPeters, Haley Davis, Mackenzie Davis, Colton Davis and Emma Davis.
A service to honor the life of Charlene will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at McDowell Memorial Park.
