Mildred Estelle Westall "Essie"

February 29, 1944 — April 2, 2019

In the early morning hour of Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Mildred Estelle Parker Westall “Essie” and affectionately known as “Grammy”, departed to be with the Lord at her residence in Marion.  The daughter of the late Curtis and Sadie Belle Martin Parker, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on February 29, 1944.

A wonderful Christian, devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Essie cherished every moment she had with her family.  As her “boys” were growing up, she taught them how to play baseball, how to read and loved cooking for them. Since the late 50’s, she was a member of Rolands Chapel Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband of 55 years, Lawrence Westall; three sons, Robert Westall, Larry Westall (Melisha Huskins Westall) and Norris Westall; one brother, Leonard Parker; ten grandchildren, Kendall Mace, Caleb Westall, Jeffery Morrow, Whitney Westall, Emily Westall, Sierra Morrow, Luke Westall, Alex Westall, Gabriel Westall and Fontana Westall; and seven great grandchildren.

In keeping with Essie’s wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
