In the early morning hours of Friday, November 03, 2017, Mildred Inez Smith Parker, age 73, of Glen Alpine, North Carolina, passed away at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care’s Hospice House in Valdese. The daughter of the late Lee and Selma Plemmons Smith, she was born on April 08, 1944 in McDowell County, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Smith Henderson who passed away on October 13th, 2017
A former member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Marion, Mildred dearly loved her family, especially her mother, whom she lived and cared for up until she passed. Mildred was a veteran of the United States Army.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Barriet; five siblings, Doris Burnette of Valdese, Wayne Smith and his wife, Darlene of Morganton, Joyce Bates of Marion, Bryan Smith and his wife, Linda of Nebo; and Lois Biddix of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
