Mildred "Millie" Irene Beam Holtzclaw

Mildred “Millie” Irene Beam Holtzclaw, 69, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Burke County on June 16, 1952 to the late Edgar Beam and Rachel Stamey Beam. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Holtzclaw; and a sister, Linda McCall.

Millie was a former supervisor at Hanes, and she later worked at the ABC Store. She was a very funny and cheerful lady who was always joking around with family and friends. She was loyal to her family and had a great heart. Millie had a very giving spirit who gave regularly to various animal, veterans, and police benefit organizations. She recently joined the Moose Lodge in order to further give back to her community.

She is survived by three brothers, Steve Beam (Laura), Darrell Beam (Tonya), and Mark Beam (Ruby).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at McDowell Memorial Park, where Millie will be entombed with her husband.
