Michael Joe Stevens

     Michael Joe Stevens, 76, of Nebo, passed away, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

     Michael was born in McDowell County, NC on December 10, 1945, to the late Tracey Edward Stevens and Rosa Lee Sigmon Stevens. He was a member of Pinnacle Christian Church in Dysartsville and was a career diesel mechanic. In addition to volunteering with the Church, Michael was an avid hunter and trapper and enjoyed making people laugh. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Donald Stevens; two sisters, Rosetta Thompson and Hope Stevens; and three brothers, Jerry Stevens, Ronnie Stevens, and Edward Stevens.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his true love, Shirley Hamrick; two sons, Michael Allen Stevens (Brandi) and Donald Stevens (Tammy); a daughter, Michelle Marie Stevens; two sisters, Louise Davis (Sherman) and Vangie Peek (Tommy); two grandchildren, Haley Frizsell (Daniel) and Amanda Woody (Dillon); five step-grandchildren, Aiden Mauney, Chelsey Mauney, Bradley Mauney, Jason Mauney, and Crystal Cline (Chris); five great grandchildren, Shane Stevens, Skyler Stevens, Mason Gilliam, Jackson Frizsell, and Lucas Frizsell; three step-greatgrandchildren, Avery Cline, Etta Cline, and Maxine Mauney; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.
