Michael Lee Childers

Michael Lee Childers, lovingly known as “Big Mike”, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 15, 2017. He was born on February 23, 1980 in Rutherford County to the late Harry Lee Childers and Jane Biggerstaff McGee.

“Big Mike” was a member of the New Manna Baptist Church. He was fun loving and kind hearted person who went out of his way to help others. He was one that was known for playing practical jokes on his friends and family. Mike will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his mother Jane and Frank McGee he is survived by one sister, Brandi Childers Massey (Joey), step-brothers, Brian McGee (Angie), Michael McGee (Jessica) and David McGee (Erica). Mike is also survived by a special niece, Baylee Massey and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends.

A service to celebrate Mike’s life will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at New Manna Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
