Michael Abbott

During the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 12, 2020, Mr. Michael Guy Abbott, age 63 of Old Fort, departed from this world unexpectedly at his residence. The son of the late Guy Lewis Abbott and Rosemary Smith Abbott, he was born on July 13, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Michael’s chosen profession was in food service management for his entire career. He was called the number one Steelers fan, as well as a fan of the Pirates, Penguins, and any other Pittsburgh sports teams. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and cheering on Kyle Bush. Above everything else, Michael loved his family and spending time with them, especially his precious grandson, Paul Abbott.

Preceding Michael in death, in addition to his parents, is a son, Jeremiah Abbott.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving wife, Liz Abbott; two children, Jason Abbott (Verona) and Joshua Abbott; a stepson, Anthony Tinker; one brother, Richard Abbott (Sandi), and two sisters, Sandy Hoffman (Bill), and Eileen Knapp (Jim). He also leaves behind his precious grandson, Paul Abbott, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Michael will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Michaels honor are asked to consider an animal charity of their choice.
