Melvin Lee Moore

Melvin Lee Moore, age 84, of Marion, NC passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Wiston-Salem, NC.

Mr. Moore was born May 8, 1933 in Madison County, NC to the late Andy Moore and Linda Goforth Moore.  He was Korean Conflict Veteran of the United States Army.  He retired from Drexel Furniture and was a longtime member of West Marion Baptist Church.  In his past time, Mr. Moore enjoyed working on lawn mowers and he had a love for Volkswagens.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by seven siblings.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 52 years, Bernice Fox Moore; his daughter, Carol Kelly and husband, Garvin of Hickory, NC; one grandson, Aydan Kelly; one sister-in-law, Helen Moore of Madison County, NC; special friends, Danny and Doris Robinson of Dysartsville, NC; and many other friends and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service.  A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Danny Lewis and Rev. Mark Gold officiating.
