Maye Elliott

Maye Elliott, age 86, of the Buck Creek Community (Marion, North Carolina), departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on August 04, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Dorothy Burnette Young.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt James Elliott, Sr., who passed away March 01, 2017.

Maye, who was a member of Redeemed Freewill Baptist Church in Marion, absolutely loved the Lord and her family, who was her life. She enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by six children, Nancy Evan (Larry), Rita Sapp (Brigham), Rena Gouge (Gene), James Elliott (Becky), Ray Elliott and Dale Elliott (Crystal); ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 02, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Burnette Cemetery in Little Switzerland. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Maye’s caregivers, Chelsie Moore, Debbie Frisland, and Angie Buchanan; and last but not least, a dear friend, Laura Inman for the care and love the provided Maye and her family during her final journey.
