Max Stewart Browning, Sr. went to our Heavenly Home Thursday, May 4, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.
He was born in Canton, Ohio but was a native of Nebo. He graduated from Nebo High School and served in the U.S. Army. Max retired from Duke Energy after 23 years of service. Max knew and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.
He enjoyed life with his family, many friends, all animals, and stock car racing. He also enjoyed raising a garden. God gave Max many talents. He was blessed to be able to do many things very well and enjoyed what he was able to do.
He is survived by Lucy Browning, his wife of 57 years; son, Stewart Browning, Jr. and wife, Rachel; one grandson, Theo; and one sister, Mary Ann Cooper.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Minnie Lentz Browning; a daughter, Leslie Browning; a brother, Gene Browning; and a nephew, Robbie Browning.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Upton and Rev. Bruce Ward officiating.
Max will lie in state on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
Flowers are accepted and appreciated, but those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or the Glenwood Cemetery Fund c/o Glenwood Baptist Church.
