Mary "Ruth" Justice

Mary “Ruth” Hollifield Justice, age 86, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side.  The daughter of the late Floyd and Madge Mace Hollifield, she was born in McDowell County on November 29, 1932.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky Hollifield and Ralph Hollifield.

An active member of Garden Creek Baptist Church, Ruth had retired from Baxter Healthcare.  Having had a love of arranging flowers, she was also a true artist and enjoyed painting and drawing, but her greatest love, was the Lord, her husband and her family.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, H. Hugh Justice, Jr.; five children, Robert Justice (Sylvia), Cynthia Bass (Gary), Michael Justice, Hugh Justice III and Mark Justice (Donna); fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Merritt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
