Mary Louise Pittman

Mary Whitney Pittman, age 66, of Dysartsville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A daughter of Mattie Grindstaff Whitney, and the late Charles Edward Whitney, she was born on November 12, 1952.

Mary, who loved to travel, was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Dysartsville for many years. She was a very kind and loving woman who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest accomplishment in life.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory, in addition to her mother, are her four children, Juanita Dockery, Pamela Edwards (James), April Johnson (Sean), and Jonathan Lowery (Valerie); one sister, Brenda Suttlemyre (Phil). She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Samantha, Ashley, Amber, Eric, Cameron, Chase, Jonathan, Kaleb, Matthew, Austin, and Sierra; and two great grandchildren, Preston and Katarina.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
