Mary Jolly

Mary Owens Jolly, age 62, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on the night of Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville following a courageous battle with cancer.  The daughter of the late Samuel and Georgia Silver Nance, she was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on February 04, 1957.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by five brothers; and one sister.

A wonderful, devoted and loving wife, mother and aunt, Mrs. Jolly was a substitute teacher for the McDowell County Schools, where she enjoyed being around children of all ages.  She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church in Marion.

Mary and her husband, Rick Jolly, would have celebrated their 39th anniversary on December 31, 2019.  She is also survived by one son, Jeremiah Jolly; one daughter, Christie Jolly Moore and her husband, Chris; numerous nieces and nephews; and two great nephews who were very special to her, Garrett Souther and Charlie Hoyle. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Dicks officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.  A private interment will be held at McDowell Memorial Park.
