Mary Ann Johnson

In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 12, 2019, Mary Ann Presnell Johnson passed away at Mission Hospital McDowell. A daughter of Wilma Helen Wills, and the late Charles Willard Wills, she was born in McDowell County on March 08, 1954.

Mary was known as a very loving and devoted mother not only to her children, but to anyone who needed her. She always had an open door and an open heart. Mary was a member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist church in Nebo. In her free time, she enjoyed working puzzles, and was known to have a beautiful voice. One of her many joys in life was being able to sing in church. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, Mary is survived by her two children, Randy Dean Presnell (Amanda), and Mashonda Presnell. One step daughter, Tricia McCormick (Troy), and one stepson, Adam Harding, and her two grandchildren, Kadence Blake and Scotty Mahan. Also surviving are her five siblings, Charles Wills Jr. (Pauline), Tommy Wills (Glenda), Anna Connor (Rev. Billy), Jane Turner (John), and Robert Wills (Teresa).

A funeral service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Justice officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
