Mary Magdalene Walker Hudgins

Mary Magdalene Walker Hudgins, 78, of Marion, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, March 25, 2024 at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.

She was born in Buncombe County on July 3, 1945 to the late Elijah Walker and Ethel Marie Calloway Walker. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Whitaker. Mary enjoyed flowers and will be remembered as a good-hearted and good-natured lady. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved them all with her whole heart. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Arnold Ray Hudgins; two children, Mary Rose Whitaker Long and David Robinson; three stepchildren, Timmy Hudgins, Amy Hudgins, and Tracy Owenby; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one on the way; and eight sisters.

The family will hold services at a later date.
