Mary Louise Casselman

On the night of Saturday, March 27, 2021, Mary Louise Casselman, age 81, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away at her residence following an extended illness.  The daughter of the late Paul and Geneva Waddell, she was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on July 24, 1939.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tonya; and one brother, William Waddell. 

Mary enjoyed making quilts and was a true artist with a needle.  She loved to fish, and in fact 28 years ago, she met and fell in love with her husband, Lee, while fishing at Douglas Lake in Tennessee.  Although she enjoyed traveling and taking in the beautiful views from the mountains to the sea, Mary loved most the peace and quiet of her mountain home. 

Left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband, Lee Casselman; two sons, Ricky Vaughn and Gary Vaughn; one daughter, Audrey Lowery; one sister, Shirley Brown; numerous grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service.
