Martha Jean Roberts

Martha Jean Roberts, age 69, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System- Blue Ridge with her loving family by her side. She was born in McDowell County on February 28, 1948 to the late Ray James and Eva Bradley Reel.

She is preceded in death by her sister Rose Davis who passed away June 3, 2017.

Martha enjoyed gardening and quilting. She worked in numerous textiles over the past fifty years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her four fur babies. She mostly loved spending time with her family.

Left to cherish Martha’s memory are her husband of fifty years, Larry Roberts Sr.; four children, Michelle Hanna (Merle), Melissa Smith (Roger), Larry Roberts, Jr. (Shana) and Angie Waycaster (Mike). Martha is also survived by her eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and her four canine companions.

A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend David Kell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
