Martha Sue Ortiz

In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, 2020, Martha Sue Ortiz, age 84, of Marion, North Carolina, made that wonderful cross over to Heaven at Autumn Care of Marion.  The daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Kent Laughter, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on December 06, 1936. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Revonda Ann Laughter.

An avid shopper, Martha enjoyed reading; and before her health began to decline, she was known to start a project restoring anything she put her mind to.  Spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, meant the world to her.

Martha is survived by two daughters, Kathy Marsh (Bobby) and Angie Ortiz Huskins (Jimmy); three grandsons, Dakota Arrowood, Slater Ortiz and Joey Elliott; and three great granddaughters, Cali, Royal and Alaina.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
