Mark Anthony Ray

During the evening hours of July 04, 2020, Mr. Mark Anthony Ray, age 53 of Marion, took the next step of life and peacefully departed from this world while at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville. The son of the James and Joann Arrowood Ray, he was born in McDowell County on August 22, 1966.

An avid outdoorsman, Mark was a caring hard-working person who loved his family. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend who will be sorely missed. One brother Gregory Ray, precedes him in death.

Left to cherish his wonderful memories, in addition to his parents James and Joann Ray, are his son, Devin Ray (Rachel), and one granddaughter, Lilliana Ray. He also leaves behind a brother, Jimmy Ray, and a sister, Teresa Washburn.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Mark’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Timothy Macon officiating.
