Marilyn Riddle

Marilyn Effler Riddle, age 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born on November 12, 1954 in McDowell County to the late Cecil Effler and Linnie Grindstaff Effler.

Marilyn’s family was her world, and she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was loved by all and never met a stranger. Marilyn, who enjoyed crocheting and collecting angels, will be remembered as a compassionate and giving person.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Riddle, Sr.; and five siblings, Betty Thompson, Dean Effler, Lawrence Effler, Roy Lee Effler, McArther Effler.

She is survived by her companion, Gary “Charles” Carter; two children, Katherine Schoenen and Jamie Bryant (David); two grandchildren, William and Adam Bryant; and four sisters, Nelma Justice, Louise Orr, Carol Allen, and Sue Carnes.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
