Margie Hall Mooney

On the morning of Friday, December 13, 2024, Margie Hall Mooney, of the Pleasant Gardens Community in Marion, NC, went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on October 5, 1940 to the late Theodore R. and Maggie Wyatt Hall.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Guy W. Mooney, Sr.; three brothers, Clarence Hall, Troy Hall, and Eugene Hall; and three sisters, Nadine Clontz, Mable Dobbins, and Revonda Wylie.

Margie was employed at Cross Cotton Mill until its closing. She enjoyed playing BINGO, and she was an avid bowler. She will be remembered for her cooking and canning. More than anything, she loved her family wholeheartedly. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her purpose in life.

Margie is survived by her two children, Guy W. Mooney, Jr. (Kandra) of Bakersville, NC and Jennifer Ann Mooney of Marion, NC; her sister, Wilma Hall Morgan Burke of Marion; brother, Theodore "Buddy" Hall of Marion; four grandchildren, Joshua G. Mooney (Candis), Kelly Lawing (Alex) , Grace Mooney, and Aaliyah Mooney; four great-grandchildren, Ian Mooney, Mia Mooney, Axel Bernard, and Amelia Benfield.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Todd Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
