Margaret Cornelia Worsham Lawing

Margaret Worsham Lawing, of Marion, passed away at Autumn Care on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the age of 100.  

She was born in Rutherford County on May 13, 1924 to William Jefferson Worsham and Stella Mae Brooks Worsham who preceded her in death. Margaret is also preceded in death by first husband, Boyd Stone and her second husband, Dexter Lawing; an infant son, Jeff Stone; step-son, Larry Lawing and her fifteen siblings. 

Margaret was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church where she loved to sing and worshiping her Lord and Savior. She worked for and retired from Gayley and Lord. She spent many hours in the kitchen and was known as a wonderful cook. She loved taking walks and quilting but mostly loved watching her grandkids play sports. She had a wonderful personality because she loved to laugh and make others laugh with her. Margaret was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Margaret is survived by her two children, Ann Burleson (Kenneth) of Nebo and Tommy Stone (Jaime) of Marion; two step-sons, Jerry Lawing and Gary Lawing; a step-daughter Dixie Helms; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Margaret will take place at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 3:00 pm. Kagan Young will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse or Bethel FWB Church fund.
