Margaret Hall

March 31, 1937 — November 7, 2017

 

Mrs. Margaret Reel Hall, age 80, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the SECU Hospice House in Forest City.  Margaret was native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born March 31, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Asbery Reel and Rosa Ward Reel. 

 

She had retired from the Dietary Department of Rose Hill Retirement Community in Marion. Margaret was a gifted homemaker, her expertise at canning and cooking (especially her hot apple pies) was legendary.  She was also a talented seamstress.  A member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church, Margaret was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord. 

 

In addition to her parents, her first husband, Ralph Junior Hall preceded in her in death.

 

Margaret leaves behind her husband, Larry Bennett of the home; five children, Glenn Barrier of the home, Randy Barrier and wife Dana of Glenwood, Teresa Letterman and husband John of Glenwood, Lesia Fender and husband Ray of Morganton and Wayne Barrier of Nebo; one brother, Harlan “Buck” Reel of Marion; three sisters, Marie Bradley of Georgia, Laura Bradley of Marion and Ann Compton of Marion.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Max and Laura Duncan.

 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Michael Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow at Cross Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
