Margaret Eliza Felty

Margaret Burcham Felty, age 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation. She was born April 4, 1932 to the late Walter Burcham and Edna Acker Blevins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Cecil Felty, her daughter Carolyn Waycaster, a son J.C. Felty, Jr., one sister, Darcus Bowles, two brothers, Clyde and Eugene Burcham and a foster son, Lance Corporal Steven Dawson.

Margaret was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and was known at church for her raisin pies and homemade bread. She loved her fellow members there and enjoyed singing in the choir and was always singing wherever she would go. She was always laughing. Margaret also loved red birds.

She is survived by four grandsons, Michael Waycaster, Steven, Gary and John Felty. Three great grandchildren also survive, Shiann Waycaster, Michael Cody Waycaster and Tyler Waycaster.

A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wytheville VA.. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 545 Saint Luke’s Road, Wytheville, Virginia 24382.
