Marcella Jones

On the afternoon of Friday, April 24, 2020, Mrs. Marcella Hall Jones, age 96 of Marion, departed from this world and took her heavenly flight home to be with her Lord and Savior while at her residence with her beloved family by her side. The daughter of the late Harvey Ransom Hall and Myrtle Sexton Hall, Marcella was born in Wise County Virginia on May 01, 1923.

Marcella, who was a devout member of the Baptist faith, was a staple member and matriarch of her family. She retired after many years of service from Cross Cotton Mill, and found a love for embroidering. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time them. Marcella was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who had the chance to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Virgil Jones.

Left behind to cherish her precious memories are her three children, Norma Jones Williams (Herman), Virgil Ray Jones (Cheryl), and Juanita Jones Bartlett (Danny); one sister, Georgia Vess; three grandchildren, Jesse Bartlett, Brock Jones, and Holly Williams, and two step grandchildren, Chris Murray and Robert Murray. She also leaves behind four great grandchildren, Evan Jones, Brandi Jones, Gage Bandeko and Kaylee Bandeko; four step great grandchildren, Linzee, Laken, Kaytie, and Aaron Murray, as well as seven great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate the life and homegoing of Marcella will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at West Court Baptist Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Melvin.
