Mamie Regina Reel

Mamie Regina Barlowe Reel, age 88, of Marion, NC went to be with the Lord Monday, January 7, 2019 at Autumn Care of Marion, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Reel was born February 19, 1930 in Watauga County, NC to the late Vernie Rudolph Barlowe and Eva Jane McGee Barlowe.  She was a member of Zion Hill Bapist Church and volunteered for more than 20 years at the McDowell Hospital Gift Shop.  She was also a babysitter to many children over the years.  In Mrs. Reel’s spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and giving away the many things she had made.  She especially loved and cherished her family and will forever be missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reel is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lee Reel.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are three children, Patsy L. Ellis (Wayne), Ricky Gene Reel (Elaine) all of Marion, NC and Craig Lloyd Reel (Christina) Mocksville, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Ellis (Tracey), Sgt. Michael Reel, Kesha Reel, Cameron S. Moose (Brittany) and Chandler S. Reel; three great-grandchildren, Noah Ellis, Ryan Pack and Cade Moose; and dear friends, Susie Crisp and Kelly Crisp.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Beam Funeral Service.  A Funeral Service to celebrate Mrs. Reel’s life will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Cole officiating with Jacob Hunt assisting.  Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
