Madge Elizabeth Trent Gaddis

On the evening of March 15, 2025 Madge Elizabeth Trent Gaddis, age 93, left this world and went to her heavenly home in Glory.

Born in Marion, on February 9, 1932, she was the daughter of Eugene & Elizabeth Freshour Trent. Madge loved her Lord and Savior and served Him many years at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church. She especially loved teaching the Primary Sunday School Class. She enjoyed crafts and baking and was known for her coconut cakes. Anyone who knew Madge knew that she loved red birds.

Madge was a hard worker and had a career as a Personnel Secretary at various places like Marion Manufacturing, Nationwide Insurance, and Marimont.

She is preceded in death by her father & mother, all her brothers and sisters: Edna Trent Connor, Melba Trent Halford, John Trent, Jim Trent, Albert Trent, Christine Trent Frisbee, Henry Trent, Marie Arrington, 2 infant sisters, Jean and Ruth Trent, her loving husband of 64 years, Kenneth Eugene Gaddis, Sr., her son Kenneth Eugene Gaddis, Jr. and daughter, Gail Eshbaugh.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Susan Gaddis Holland (Wayne), daughter-in-law Tammy Gaddis, grandchildren Sheila Hinton Williams (Shawn), Kent Hinton (Glenda), Amanda Holland Collins (Joshua) Kayla Lynn Dingus (David), and Dr. Tristan Kendall Gaddis, five great-grandchildren: Michael Williams, Matthew Hinton, Jacob Collins, Rosie Hinton, Gracelynn Hinton and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 3:00pm with the family receiving friends one hour prior from 2:00 – 3:00pm. Rev. Tim Connor and Pastor Alan Sailors will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Pass Church Cemetery.
