Mack Oliver Wilson, Jr.

Mack Oliver Wilson, Jr., age 74, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Memorial Campus of Asheville. He was born on August 27, 1943 to the late Mack Oliver Wilson, Sr. and Ellen Pritchard Wilson.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Belle Price.

Mack was a member of Hillcrest Free Will Baptist Church in which he helped build. He enjoyed fishing and never met a stranger. Mack loved his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Nina Edwards Wilson, three children, Mack Oliver Wilson III (Crystal), Scott D. Wilson (Sally) and Jackie S. Wilson; two sisters, Leona Fender and Imogene Johnson. Also surviving Mack are his grandchildren, Michael S. Wilson, Malachi J. Wilson, Mack O. Wilson IV, Chloe Higgins, Kayla Reed and Katherine Freeman; and two great-grandchildren, Bentley Freeman and Drake Sifford.

A funeral service to celebrate Mack’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Bud Edwards and Bobby Revis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
