Lula Bell Harris

On the evening of Wednesday, February 26, 2020, Lula Bell Pitman Harris, age 79, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away at her home with her loved ones by her side. A native of Mitchell County, Lula was born on August 12, 1940 to the late Paul and Lillian Buchanan Pitman.

Lula grew up in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church but later became a member of Nebo Baptist Church where she would help with the AWANA program. Later in life she got her GED and volunteered at Nebo Elementary and helped with the PTO. Lula always made sure all the neighborhood children were fed. She loved everyone especially her family and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memories are five children, Cris Harris, Diana Bartlett (Randy), Doris Pittman, Vickie Ramsey (Scott) and Ron Harris (Melissa); one sister, Rosa Woody (Wade); thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie Thomas officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
