Louise Tilley Young

     Louise Tilley Young, 89, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Black Mountain.

     Louise was born in Yancey County, NC on August 1, 1934, to the late J.B. and Hassie Tilley. She was married to the late Bill Young, her husband of more than 60 years. Louise was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She loved her Church and enjoyed reading. Louise loved spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughters. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Revis; a grandson, Matthew Knighton; two sisters, Mary Hughes and Faye Overman; and a brother, Cecil Tilley.

     Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Peggy Jo Baker (Jack); three grandsons, Bruce Knighton (Kim), Adam Revis (Gwen), and Jason Baker (Wendy); and eight great granddaughters, Tori, Kyra, Kaylee, Zoey, Reagan, Lilly, Mary-Ellis, and Aubrey.

     A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Cross Memorial Park. Rev. Richard Anderson will officiate.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Mission at Cross Memorial Baptist Church.
