Louise Ward

Mrs. Louise Ward, age 84, of Nebo, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care in Valdese.  A loving mother and grandmother, born  August 25, 1931 in McDowell County, Louise was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elsie Brown Benge.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ward, who passed away February 19, 2011; and one son, James Smith.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Smith of Morganton; one daughter, Diane Patrick of Nebo; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mrs. Ward will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Vance officiating.
