Louise Hall

September 22, 1922 — July 16, 2017

 

 

Louise Evans Hall, age 94, loving mother, grandmother and sister, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017 while at the Marjorie McCune Memorial Center in Black Mountain.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, born September 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Etta Evans. 

 

Miss Louise, who loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers and people, had worked at Etta Packaging and later began working at Baxter Healthcare where she ultimately retired.  Following retirement, she worked at Autumn Care of Marion and the Old Fort Senior Center.  Always active in church, Louise was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church and most recently had been attending Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

 

Left to cherish her precious memories, one son, Maurice Hall of Marion; one daughter, Carolyn Hall of Marion; one brother, Ralph Evans of Marion; one sister Opal Gibson of Marion; six grandchildren, Stephanie Boggs (Paul) of Old Fort, Amy Dishner of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Jamie Morehead (Duane) of Moore, South Carolina, Melanie Ollis of Marion, Ben Hall (Tighe) of Salida, Colorado; and Beth Bryant of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and nine great grandchildren.  Louise will also be greatly missed by many of the more recent friends she made while residing at the McCune Center. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Dennis Burleson and Brother Paul Baker officiating.  Interment will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

 

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs. Hall’s memory are asked to consider, Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 83 Providence Church Road, Marion, North Carolina, Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1496 Jacktown Road, Marion, North Carolina 28752 and/or to a charity of one's choice.
