Louise Burleson

Louise Buff Burleson, age 86, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord; and to be with her late husband, Jay, on the morning of Wednesday, June 8, 2016 while at Autumn Care of Marion.  Her loving family and pastor were by her side. 

A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born August 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Will and Annie Poole Buff.  Known to be a prayer warrior, Louise had a compassion for others before herself. She was an excellent seamstress; and in her free time, along with her husband, she loved to go camping and spending time with her family.  Louise was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jay Burleson, who passed away September 12, 2015; one son, Jerry Burleson; and three brothers, Jim, Charles and Johnny Buff.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her four children, Kenneth R. Burleson and wife, Ann of Nebo, Carolyn Patton and husband, Steve of Nebo, Marietta Sherlin and husband, Steve of Pleasant Gardens and Tommy Burleson and wife, Karen of Marion; two sisters, Vivian Davis and Laura Virginia Kelly, both of Marion.  She is also survived by her five precious grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to honor the life of Louise will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Stockton officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
