Louis Dexter Roberts

Mr. Louis Dexter Roberts, age 80, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 19, 2018 at his residence. Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on February 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Donald James Roberts and Lola Ray Roberts. 

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Ayers and Aileen Roberts Peterson; one brother, Virgil Brindle; and one sister-in-law, Martha Roberts.

An avid collector of knives and watches, Dexter loved horses.  For several years, he enjoyed working at Foothills Industry and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. 

Dexter is survived by one sister, Gladys Bass of Marion; two brothers, Willie Roberts (Gail) of Asheville and Larry Roberts of Old Fort; special nephew, Ricky Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
