Loretta Jane Causby

     Loretta Jane Causby, 74, of Marion, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at McDowell Hospital.

     Loretta was born in McDowell County, NC on April 12, 1948, to the late Jay Horace Causby and Mildred Irene Freeman Causby. Loretta was a member of New Horizon Baptist Fellowship Church. She loved music and enjoyed puzzles and art. Loretta was one of God’s special angels on this earth. She will always be remembered for her kindness and love for people. She will be greatly missed.  

     In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and Allen Causby.

     Those left to cherish her memory include a sister, Peggy Poplin (Donald); two brothers, Jerry Causby (Maxine) and Richard Causby (Denise); and many nieces and nephews.

     A funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Steve Bugenhagen will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

     The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

     Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

     The family would like to thank Dr. Edward St. Bernard for his years of friendship and care. Also, thanks to the McDowell Hospital staff for their excellent care and compassion.
