Lorene Miller Costner

Lorene Victoria Miller Costner, age 90, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Rose Hill Retirement Community, with her son at her bedside.

Mrs. Costner was born August 30, 1928 in Iredell County, NC to the late Charlie Baxter Gantt and Zella Mae Warren Gantt.  In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, James Carl Miller; her second husband, Willie George Costner; three sisters, Lennie Barnes, Ruth Rhyne and Bonnie Brown; and one brother, Jesse Gantt.

Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Costner’s memory are her son, James A. Miller and wife Nancy; one brother, Carol Gantt and wife, Rebecca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services in Cherryville, NC.  A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Costner’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Jim Holt, Ken Pinney and Wanda Skilbred officiating.  Interment will be held at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
