Lloyd Paul Hasty

Lloyd Paul Hasty, 83, of Black Mountain and formerly of Marion, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 20, 2022 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home where he had been a resident for several years.

He was born in Holmes County Florida on July 19, 1938 to the late James Samuel Hasty and Bertha Delores Proctor Hasty.

Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a sharpshooter. He was immediately promoted to corporal. He was retired from Baxter Healthcare where he started in 1972. He was a jovial man and also a faithful Christian. Lloyd was a very generous man who would give anytime he saw an opportunity. He truly received joy through this giving spirit.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five siblings, Henry “Tom” Hasty, Evelyn Hendley, Houston Hasty, Pleta Carmichael, and Floyd Hasty, who was his twin.

He is survived by one sister, Irma Jean Silvers (Ward); and numerous nieces and nephews including Christina Burleson, Sherry Grindstaff, Tamera Frank, and Karen Silver.

A private inurnment will take place at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
