Linda Sue Adkins Rode, 75, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A native of McDowell County, she was born May 28, 1947 to the late James Adkins and Edna Faye Randolph Adkins.
Linda worked in the furniture industry before working at Tom Johnson’s Camping Center. She was a hard worker who worked all her life. She was a member of the Nondenominational Church of God and truly loved her church family. Linda read her Bible often and enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and tending to her flowers. She loved to cook and received joy by spending time with her family when they gathered at her home many times.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Ledbetter; and a nephew, James Richard Ruff.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Rode; five children, Sharon Mace Jones (Brock McPeters), Misty Fortin, Randy McNinch (Tia), Christi Estep, and Holly Rode; five siblings, Wanda Pace (Harold), Resa McGee (Dail), Nina Adkins (Pody Oates), Eddie Adkins (Susan), and Rick Adkins (Angie); fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one on the way; her mother-in-law. Faye Romesburg; and her fur baby and best friend, Sadie Grace.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 03, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Jack Wilson and Harvey Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
